VCA Appoint UK Technical Manager
VCA has appointed Garry Carson to the newly created role of UK Technical Manager.
Working closely alongside the UK sales team, Garry will be responsible for ensuring VCA’s fast expanding list of UK customers are provided with the highest level of pre and post sales support. This will include the provision of training to assist end-users in achieving maximum benefit from the video analytics incorporated into all VCA’s own brand cameras and appliances.
Garry has worked within the electronic security industry for almost twenty years, during which he has performed technical support roles for Aassett Security, ADT Fire & Security, Vindex Systems, Xtralis.
“Our sales in the UK have grown significantly over the last twelve months and the timing is now right for us to employ a dedicated, locally based technical manager,” said Kevin Waterhouse, Executive Vice President, Global Sales for VCA Technology Limited. “Garry is a welcome addition to the VCA team. We will be able to put his extensive technical knowledge, interpersonal skills and enthusiastic approach to customer support to very good use.”
VCA’s video analytics has been successfully deployed worldwide in over 350,000 video channels.
Developed in the UK by a team of computer vision scientists, VCA’s video analytics engine can perform a wide range of security and surveillance applications such as people counting, intrusion detection and vehicle monitoring, as well as tailgating and camera tamper detection.
Based on state-of-the-art computer vision algorithms and with the benefit that comes from over 50 man-years of research and development, the system continuously adapts to environmental changes and rejects sources of false alarms, so that an operator is alerted only when there's genuinely something of interest.
The analytics engine has been independently verified by the UK Home Office i-LIDS programme for use in sterile zone applications, so users can rest assured that the system meets stringent performance standards for event detection and false alarm rejection.
In addition to its security credentials, VCA’s analytics also provides a highly accurate method for capturing and providing metadata, which can be graphically displayed in customisable reports to provide organisations with the information they need to achieve their business and operational objectives.
VCA analytics has been developed with the user in mind. Easy to set up, it is incorporated into VCA’s own brand range of internal and external IP network fixed, domes and 360-degree panoramic cameras.
